Twas the week before Christmas and all through the house all the creatures were stirring except for one mouse. All were fretting about presents, gifts, and holidayness. The Children all wanted new toys and hoped beyond hope that there pleas got through. The parents all fretted about what to get who and if it can't be bought, what will we do?
All of these things are worrisome worries, and it's easy to get caught up in a holiday hurry. With all of the madness the whole season gets blurry. A tragic event when you realize you've missed all the sentiment. No Christmas time fun, just "I'm glad that's done." No thankful hearts for the Savior who died.
Thankfully there is a local shop that can remedy your holiday quandry. Cartronix AT&T is your one stop shop for all the things you need to get your Christmas season back on the right track. They have phones for free, phones for me, and phones for any busy bee. Now when I say free, I do mean free. The LG CF360 and Samsung A777 are the exact cost of $0.00 (after tax)! We also have several models free after mail in rebate including the Samsung Flight*, Samsung Solstice*, and LG Xenon*! All three are full touchscreen devices with 2.0MP cameras, media player capability, and bluetooth.
If that weren't enough Cartronix has also dropped the price on all of there Blackberry smart phones by 50%. Email everywhere you go has never been so afordable. The Blackberry Bold 9700 which is Blackberry's flagship model is now $99.99 after rebate*! With a 3.2MP auto focus camera with flash, 1GB of internam storage space, optical track pad, high resolution display, and 3G/wifi capabilities it is sure to keep even the most tech savvy member of your clan busy for sometime.
Alright, so you don't need a phone this Christmas. Cartronix still has you covered. Perhaps you were thinking about a few upgrades for the vehicle this Christmas? Well our Car Audio department can fix you up. With a product line that includes popular items such as Viper alarms and remote starts, Pioneer Mobile Electronics, Pioneer Premiere, Alpine, Infiniy, and radar detectors we are sure to have exactly what your vehicle needs, or maybe Grandma's vehicle.
I know, you're saying thats all well and good but I'd really like a home theater system or soley devoted media room this year. You still don't need to leave the shop because our team of highly skilled professionals will meet with you to figure out all your needs and desires. With top brands like LG, Samsung, Denon, Sonos, Klipsch, and Sanus they can put together the system that will make you the Jones's to be kept up with.
Now, finally after all of the fanfare about the aforementioned company I bid you all a Very Merry Christmas. May God bless you and your families through the coming year and may a heart of thankfulness resound from within you, and in the famous words of Bing Crosby "May all your Christmases be White."

These phones have brains!
First of all I would like to extend a big thanks to the Blackberry Bold and its spell checker. I was going to spell my title "Theise fones have branes!" but thanks to the spell check feature that Blackberry offers I was able to save myself from a very serious error in general spelling. Of course I'm kidding, well at least about my gramatical tom foolery. Blackberry devices really do employ a handy spell check system that on several occasions has enabled me to hold my own in a text or e-mail conversations with a party that is smarter than myself.
So besides a supperior vocabulary and spelling prowess what makes a smart phone smart? To answer that question all right and proper we must travel back in time because we all know the best way to know about the present is to understand that past. I believe Taylor Swift said that but I could be wrong because I didn't check it on my smart phone. Anyway, a smart phone from its first use served as a replacement for palm pilots and other personal digital assistants. The smart phones of the present day trump those bulky machines with ease. Aside from seamless integration of calenders, e-mail, multi media, internet, and gaming these devices incorporate voice calling into products that are becoming more compact and sophisticated all the time.
The devices at the forefront of this electronic revolution are phones like the Blackberry Bold($199.99*), 8900 ($149.99*), HTC Tilt 2 ($299.99*), HTC Pure ($149.99*), Garmin Nuvi Phone ($299.99*), and Nokia E71x ($49.99*). These little guys are really smart. Every single one of the aforementioned devices has WiFi built into it. The advantage to this besides being faster than standard data is that it does not use any of your at&t data. This generally isn't an issue however, if you go overseas standard data rates do not apply and it can get downright expensive to use the internet. With WiFi however this quandary is eliminated because WiFi does not use at&t data.
I know what you're thinking, that would be splendid if I ever left the good ol U.S.A. Well the features don't end with the data. The phones now are coming with things like application stores which essentially allow you unlimited functions on your phones. I myself have a fantasy football application which allows me to track my team, make roster changes, and even get updates on the status of players like Roy Williams who is unlikely to play this Sunday do to a rib injury sustained last week against Denver. Other applications give you the option to read e-books from your phone, create personalized radio stations based on YOUR favorite artists, or even see how far away from the hole you are on the Par 5 6th at your favorite golf course.
All of these phones and many more are available at Cartronix at&t which has four convienent locations to serve you. We have a store in Merrillville in the mall on the lower level by JC Penny. We also have a Lake County location in Schererrville at U.S. 30 & 41 by the Wal-Mart. Our Valparaiso location is on the north side of town across from Cumberland Crossing on Calumet, and Our Portage Store where I'm to be found is now in front of Kohls on Route 6. The handsets mentioned above are in stock at these locations and our trained sales and support team would be happy to assist you with any of your smart phone needs!

The Netbook Network!
Ladies and gentlemen,
Cartronix AT&T is now offering netbooks with built in AT&T wireless internet cards! Those wireless internet cards give you access to the AT&T data network anywhere you get cell phone service.
Now first things first, let me explain what exactly a netbook is. A netbook in short is kind of like a laptop light or a value meal. You get all the essential components like a processor, hard drive, and ram just in smaller quantities than you would on a laptop. Your normal netbook is going to have a hard drive in the range of 10-50gb and ram is usually at about 512mb. These devices are used primarily as word pads and mobile internet devices, so those relatively unimpressive figures don't usually matter.
With my innitial inspection of the device I was impressed not only by the unusually large hard drive which clocks in at 160gb, but also by the 1gb of ram that this extremely compact netbook stores. The processor on the netbooks is comparable with most other netbooks in that it uses an intel atom processor, but these particular netbooks are leaps and bounds above the compitition because of the ram and hard drive.
So by all means, stop by your local Cartronix AT&T store and get a netbook for $200.00 after a $100.00 mail in rebate.

Blackberry Bold
The Blackberry Bold is the top of the line device Blackberry offered through AT&T. In my opinion it is the best device offered through AT&T flat out. It has a 65,536 color high resolution display with 480x320 pixels which is ideal for video and movie playback. The phone itself comes with 1GB of internal storage space but is expandable up to 16GB with a MicroSD card. As far as media is concerned it also has one of the best MP3 players that I've seen on a phone period. It will sync with Windows Media and Itunes and has the ability to upload playlists and create new playlists from the device itself.
Audio quality is remarkable through the Bold because of high quality speakers that are built into the device and remarkable head phones that come with the device. The Bold is also capable of audio playback via bluetooth audio. I have personally used the device for bluetooth audio in my vehicle and with a bluetooth audio headset and audio quality is not diminished a bit with bluetooth and has become my preferred method of playback. In my car I use the Pioneer N4 with a pioneer bluetooth adapter. It has made CDs, MP3, and radio obsolete for my needs. For a bluetooth audio headset I use the Motorola Rokr which has amazingly clear sound that I use at the gym and when I'm out running. These options give me access to as much music as I can carry on an Ipod Nano while eliminating an extra device that I need to carry with me. I have an 8GB Micro SD card for my Bold that I've stored some 2,000 songs on. I have found this to be more than enough music to keep me occupied at any time and with the easy syncing through Windows Media Player and Itunes I can update my library whenever I want to.
The media capabilities alone were enough to sell me on the phone, however the Bold does far more than just play music. Blackberrys are designed first and foremost as Mobile Email devices and they are the premier devices for that. On a Bold you can sync multiple Email accounts and all of them will send and recieve Email to and from the device in real time. Blackberry is able to do this using a patented push server technology where as Windows Mobile devices have to constantly update themselves to look for new incoming messages and messages to be sent out. You can program a WM device to do that on your prompting or at timed intervals (10min, 20min, etc.) however the clear advantage is with Blackberry, that sends and recieves in real time without prompting or updating.
Above and beyond the aforementioned capabilities Blackberry launched an Application Store last month which gives users the capability to load third party applications. My favorite application by far has been Pandora. Pandora is an internet radio station that creates individual radio stations based on your favorite artists or songs. For example, if you type in "Johan Sebastian Bach" it will create a personalized radio station that plays Bach as well as other classical artists such as Beethoven, Wagner, and Mozart. Other notable applications are Myspace Mobile, Facebook Mobile, Slacker Radio, and Google Maps.
You can also purchase games from the Application Store. Games such as Solitaire, Bejeweled, and Tiger Woods Golf. That is, if the games that come preloaded on the phone aren't enough for you. The phone itself comes with Word Mole, Texas Hold Em', Sudoku, Klondike, and Brick Breaker for free. None of the games I just mentioned are trial versions or demos rather they are full versions of the game. Personally I find Word Mole to be delightfully addicting and thus I've spent countless hours keying in new words that are worth more points. I will also admit to spending a healthy swath of time playing Texas Hold Em'.
All of these things are fantastic little trinkets to have loaded on your cell phone however all the bells and whistles the world of electronics offer mean absolutely nothing if your phone doesn't have durability and reception. I have found from personal trial and error that the Bold is respectably durable. I've come to this conclusion based on the fact that I've accidently launched it across the room getting out of bed, dropped it countless times, and had my dog use it as her personal chew toy. Although I was none to pleased with any of these accidents, I was ecstatic to find that my phone still worked flawlessly after all of these incidents.
Some readers may be asking how the Bold stacks up against an Iphone and my answer simply is that it wins hands down. The Bold has Email capability that the Iphone simply cannot compete with. The Bold also has the ability to send and recieve picture messages that the Iphone famously lacks. The Bold can also look at youtube videos as well as view full html internet. Another point of interest for me is the fact that the Bold has a removable battery. This may not be a huge deal to some but I like having the peace of mind to know that if something were to go wrong with my battery I can easily rectify that without sending in my entire device. I also like the fact that through the Blackberry desktop manager I can backup all data on my phone securely to my computer. This is useful in the event that your phone is lost, stolen, or needs to be replaced because of a warranty issue you can restore all settings exactly the way you had them on your old phone down to individual caller ringtones, font types, and passwords. I water damaged a curve a while back and spent no time reconfiguring my new device because all my contacts, pictures, passwords, and internet favorites were loaded right back onto my new phone.
Last but certianly not least is the issue of reception. I have been amazed at the signal strength that Blackberrys sustain consistantly and the clarity that is delivered in conversations. I used to believe that the three best phones for reception were Nokia, Motorola, and Blackberry. Through using a Blackberry for the last year and a half however, I have come to believe that Blackberry devices are undoubtedly a cut above.
In closing, I firmly believe that the Blackberry Bold is the best phone offered through AT&T and is the best phone that I have ever used personally. I have been completely satisfied with the features that the Bold offers and it has set a new precedent for what I deem necessary for one of my phones. The quality of build has astounded me and I absolutely reccomend not only a Blackberry Bold but the Pearl and Curve to anyone who reads this article.

There are some things we just want.
There are some things people just want; People want things like Ferraris, diamonds, power, penguins, and chocolate oreo cheesecake with caramel drizzle. Well I want internet access wherever I go!
These things seem impractical right? Wrong! Well ok, right but a little wrong. I'm not saying I know the magic formula for you to obtain ferraris, diamonds, and penguins but things like chocolate oreo cheesecake and internet wherever you go are ascertainable!
I know it seems a bit outlandish but with AT&T's Laptop Connect you can have the worldwide web at your fingertips, wherever your fingertips may be! Here's how it works; Laptop Connect utilizes AT&T's 3G network to deliver internet to your laptop wherever cell phone service is available. I realize that not everywhere in America is 3G yet. If you do not live in an area that has been upgraded yet you will still be able to use Laptop Connect just not with the same data transfer rates that you would get in a 3G area.
Pretty amazing right? Here's the amazing part, for $2.00 a day you can have this amazing technology at your disposal, and if that wasn't enough to convince you the Laptop Connect cards themselves are free after rebate! Lastly, AT&T has a 30 day exchange policy so if you decide that Laptop Connect isn't for you just bring it back and we'll take it back no questions asked. So what are you waiting for? Stop in to Cartronix AT&T today and get your Laptop Connect card set up!
Now if you will excuse me, I gotta see a guy about a cheesecake.

A great solution to a problem we all face.
Alright its Friday evening at 7:15pm, you're out of minutes for the month and your nights and weekends don't start for another hour and forty five minutes. It's a problem that has plagued man ever since the dawn of time, well maybe not that long but its definatly been a problem for sometime. Your friends are laying down plans, your sister in Seatle wants to talk, the library just called to tell you that your copy of The Notebook is in, but you can't take any of these calls.
Do you mean to tell me that just because the cell phone companies can't get their acts together and offer free night time and weekend minutes at a more reasonable hour you are not only going to miss Jenga night, but info on your sisters new miniture dachshund named Oscar and that tear jerking tale of love called The Notebook.
No, that's not what I'm telling you at all. Those days of opression are over! No longer must you be a prisoner of time, no longer must you will the clock to tick a little faster, no longer must you live without the knowledge of homage being paid to obscure board games!
AT&T offers a feature that starts your nights and weekends earlier, and not just a little earlier we're talking a full two hours earlier! The feature has cleverly been dubbed "7-7" and when "7-7" is applied to your new or existing AT&T account you are given unlimited minutes starting at 7pm that extend through 7am the following morning and your weekends go from 7pm Friday to 7am Monday. This revolutionary product is offered in two sizes: individual ($8.99) is for an account with only one line and family ($16.99) is for accounts with up to five lines.
Well with all that being said I guess their's only one thing left to say "is it seven yet?"
Stay tuned next week while AT&T solves world hunger.

Cartronix AT&T in Portage Indiana
First of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to read our new beloved blog. I am Tony, the first of its two principle writers and my cohort Doug is actually right next to me explaining the right to insure a handset (you have thirty days to do so). We like to think of ourselves as the neighborhood cell phone guys. Mr. Rogers with tech knowledge and bit younger if you will. Of course we don't sing...often. Ok, well we don't sing while people are around but when you listen to the 60's radio station on XM/Sirius it's hard not to sing! Surely you can understand this? I mean honestly, if "Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch" comes on the radio, what do you do. I let it rip.
I get to rambling sometimes I'm sorry. What we really do here aside from making jokes, singing songs, and entertaining our customers is give you the low down on whats coming down. We have information on cell phones, brands, carriers, features, and applications. We have the information, and you have the need to know.
So if you need a phone, help with your phone, or information about your phone just come on in! We'd be happy to talk shop, shoot the breeze, or sing sweet soul music with you.
